Good Sailing Days

One of my favorite locations, Fallen Leaf Lake, just off of Lake Tahoe in the High Sierras. A bit hard to get to, but well worth the trip. One word of warning. Don't fall in the water, it's real cold, even during the summer.
Ah yes, cruising down the Santa Barbara coast with some friends August '94. Nice breeze, almost thinking of flying the spinnaker. Not a hint of sea sickness.

Other sailing locations - Boogying around in the Santa Barbara Harbor in a Capri 14'. Sailing doesn't get much cheaper than this. It's a long way from standing in a cold shower tearing up $100 bills.

Santa Cruz Island, just off the coast from Ventura and Santa Barbara. About 4 hours from Santa Barbara by Catalina 30. This view is looking at Anacapa Island. The Chumash Indians used to sit at this spot and eat their abalone. You can tell because of the large amounts of abalone shell fragments on this hillside. The Chumash Indians apparently did not believe in recycling abalone shells.

This is Fry's Harbor, on the mainland facing side of Santa Cruz island.

This is Cochese, on the other side of the island. This place has the best beach on the island.
